JEKYLL ISLAND, GEORGIA
Jekyll Island is an island off the coast of the U.S. state of Georgia, in Glynn County; it is one of the Sea Islands and one of the Golden Isles of Georgia. The city of Brunswick, Georgia, the Marshes of Glynn, and several other islands, including the larger St. Simons Island, are nearby. Its beaches are frequented by vacationers and guided tours of the Landmark Historic District are available.

Jekyll Island鈥檚 10 miles of unspoiled beaches are perfect for sunbathing or swimming, for leisurely walks or invigorating jogs. Perhaps best known for their natural bounty, Jekyll Island鈥檚 beaches offer shell collecting for guests young and old. Many live creatures abound as well, including hermit crabs and sand dollars. Though it is tempting to collect these interesting creatures, you can help preserve the Island鈥檚 shoreline environment by leaving them as you find them, and by limiting your 鈥渃atch鈥 of shells.
As a barrier island, Jekyll Island鈥檚 beaches feature unique formations and are ever-changing. The ebb and flow of the tide many times determine the size and unusual characteristics of the beach. Each year, due tidal changes, wind and water currents, sand and silt from the marshlands of the northern coast are deposited on the beaches of the southern coast causing the entire island and ecosystems to evolve.

NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND
Newport is famous for its natural seaside beauty and for the magnificent mansions and gardens built there by the industrial barons of America鈥檚 Gilded Age. But you don鈥檛 need to have a tiara or chauffeur to enjoy Newport鈥檚 treasures, from interesting museums to mansion tours to walks or bicycle tours along rocky coves.

Rhode Island’s rugged coast and white sand beaches inspired the Vanderbilts and Astors to build summer “cottages” in Newport in the late nineteenth century, thus beginning the great Ocean State summer tradition of going to the beach house鈥攐ne’s own, or a rental.

CORAL BAY, ST. JOHN, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS
Coral Bay is a town on the island of St. John in the United States Virgin Islands. It is located on the southeastern side of the island. Though it was once the main commercial and population center on the island due to its sheltered harbor, it has fallen from prominence with the introduction of a ferry service to Cruz Bay, which is now the largest city on St. John.

St. John is well known for its well-preserved natural beauty and attractive beaches.聽 There are more than 40 beaches on the island鈥攎any protected by a national park鈥攚ith hiking trails to nearly all of ‘em.
