Babyland General HospitalThe Virtual Tour
Legend has it that a young man named Xavier Roberts once found himself at the foot of a magic cabbage patch that, upon being sprinkled with fantasy crystals, sprouted babies, better known as Cabbage Patch Kids. A mere seventy-five miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, the birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Kids remains (thrives, in fact). Babyland General Hospital continues to house the “little people” — as Roberts calls them — all of whom are “birthed, nursed, and adopted [out]” to doting parents, at least until they discover High School Musical.Considering that we can’t get ourselves to Cleveland, Georgia overnight, we’re happy to invite you on the virtual tour. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to Babyland:
This is the exterior of Babyland General, which was originally a clinic (no, for real) before exclusively housing dolls that smell of talcum

This is where expectant dads chill (and possibly ghosts, too, depending on whatever the eff is at the other end of the hall)

Where the preemies, born early due to an “unexpected frost in the Cabbage Patch,” are kept

Colonel Casey keeps an eye on the newborns while providing us with a brand new fear of storks

Dr. Campbell (Naomi Judd, we seeee youuu!), stationed at the Magic Crystal Tree, requests some more “Imagicillan,” although Mother Cabbage is doing perfectly fine, currently “dilated ten leaves apart”

What, you thought you were going to just walk right out with a baby doll without pledging an oath? This ain’t that type of hospital. One hand up, kids.

This is so awesome. I remember Babyland on Fifth which was a Babyland General on New Yorks Fifth Ave (41 st Street). They modeled it exactly like the original with cabbage patch births and adoption rooms where my weakened father witnessed me recite the oath. I remember my mother exclaiming, is this a good idea for kids to be pretending through?
