World records biggest halibut
According to British media reported, a 70-year-old German angler at fjords of western Iceland captured a giant halibut weighing about 215 kg.
Gunther Hancell struggled with this big fish for two hours; with the help of five men he dragged it on the boat.
It was reported that this "monster" weighed 480 pounds, 8 feet 2 inches (about 2.5 meters) in length; it’s enough for 1,000 people to share a delicious sashimi dinner. This is by far the biggest halibut he has ever seen. The previous record was set by Norwegian Boss Carlson and Nielsen in July 2009, that halibut is weight of 464 pounds (about 210 kg).
