Manufacturing process of the United States space shuttle "Discovery"
"Discovery" space shuttle in NASA history, carried out 39 missions, the following is the photos of "Discovery" space shuttle of the whole process of birth.
February 26, 1982, Rockwell engineers checked the "Discovery" space shuttle’s cockpit section.
This photo is the rear fuselage of "Discovery", was taken in March 9, 1982.
Middle fuselage
"Discovery" space shuttle has a 60-foot payload capsule, and middle fuselage of the payload capsule is made up of the Arch and the aluminum sheeting. The photos were taken in March 24, 1982.
This photo shows rear fuselage which contains the main engine and the OMS. Photo was taken in April 6, 1982.
May 5, 1982, engineers were installing the left wing to the mid-fuselage.
August 4, 1982, "Discovery" space shuttle’s front lower fuselage, wings and the middle fuselage installed.
