Millions dead fish turned up in a Southern California marina
King Harbor area of Redondo Beach, south of Los Angeles
Millions dead fish turned up on Tuesday at King Harbor Marina on the Los Angeles County coast, including anchovies, mackerel, sardines and other small fish.
Authorities said, on the bottom of the marina there’re dead fish of 12-inch to 18-inch layer as well.
California Fish and Game officials said it seems a natural event, after analyzing the water samples, it showed no chemicals, oils or illegal activities that can kill the fish.
The fish came into the King Harbor Marina during the night and probably got lost, they apparently depleted the water of oxygen and suffocated, said Andrew Hughan, a Fish and Game spokesman.
The sign says “Fish for sale – All you can eat!”
Fire Department, Harbor Patrol and other city workers were disposing of the dead fish and carried them away in big trash bins
