Philippines’ volcanic lake will erupt – resulting in more than 700 tons fish dying
May 29, a fisherman was fishing for dead fish on the Taal Lake at Batangas province in southwestern Luzon, Philippines. The Philippine government said there were indications that Taal volcano will erupt, as the lake water temperature suddenly increased, resulting in about 700 tons fish dying. Philippine Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said that since 27 they had found 752 tons dead milkfish and tilapia floating on the lake.
Taal Lake is a crater, which measures 24 kilometres long and 14 kilometres wide, area of 244 square kilometers, 10 meters above sea level and water depth is 170 meters. It’s rich in fish.
