Ratnapura’s gem mine in Sri Lanka
Ratnapura means "Gem City" in Sinhala.
It is said that here is the Gem Valley found by Sinbad in Arabian Nights (The Thousand and One Nights)
Ratnapura locates about 110 km southeast of Colombo, Sri Lanka; it’s the leading producer of sapphires and rubies in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is rich in precious stones and is known the world for its quantity, variety and quality.
