We always thought animals in casts were cute, but we never thought it could actually be heartbreaking.That is, until we read about Mac, an eighteen-month-old Golden Retriever who, amid chasing a rabbit, accidentally lunged forty feet after falling off a cliff. And yet, despite breaking both of his legs and puncturing a wound, Mac has made a miraculous recovery, already walking after less than three weeks (with the assistance of metal plates and wooden splints).

“Even on the rocks at the bottom of the cliff,” says Mac’s owner, “as soon as he saw me his little tail started wagging.

With a spirit like that, it’s almost unsurprising that Mac has made such a brilliant comeback. Almost.
